Lukah- Sun Conure, 10 months old!
Got inspired today and made Lukah a new chop mix.

It has (all fresh) broccoli, carrots, cantaloupe, apples, strawberries & jalepeno :)
I also made little fridge baggies of pre-cut apples, carrots and cantaloupe so I can throw them in fresh each day with the rest of his chop.

He just had cantaloupe for the first time and loved it! He's chowing down right now :) Here's a picture of the chop!

If anyone has any more chop recipes they would like to share I'd love to hear them! :)

Looks Delicious Kellie!!!

I just made a new mix for Kiwi too! I put in swiss chard, zucchini, yellow squash, red chilli pepper and grapes. She seems to like it!! Going to try cantaloupe next!!

That sounds great! I bet Lu would love that. He hasn't tried red chilli peppers yet... I still can't believe it when he chows down on jalepeno like its no big deal!

I can't wait to give Lukah his new mix tomorrow:)

That looks awesome! I haven't given my bird any vegetables yet but he likes every fruit I have given him so far. Hopefully he will like all the vegetables I give him to.

Might try your recipe :)

Go for it! Lukah hated carrots and broccoli before I started doing chop mixes... Now he loves them! The secret is putting in a ton of vegetables and then putting in a fruit they really like to try and cover the taste a little bit but not all the way. So Lukah loves apples, so I put a whole apple in, so that everything tastes a little bit like apples. He took a couple days to adjust to the first mix I gave him (apples, jalepeno, raspberries, broccoli, carrots and kale) but after that he was hooked!

I try to get lots of good veggies in and then a few fruits- usually a type of berry or a melon and apple :)

The more veggies, beans, grains you can include in the mix, the better.

Definitely! Lukah has another mix of garbanzo beans, lentils and quinoa pasta he gets every other day:)
