Lukah- Sun Conure, 10 months old!
Hey guys! Lukah's new cage is here and decked out. I was a little worried about the bar spacing because it is about 1" in a couple parts, but he has not even tried to put his head through those bars (they are at the top where the dome connects with the rectangle). And he is not inclined to escaping his cage anyway so I'm not too worried, though I will keep an eye out!

Anyway, I LOVE it! I was wary of the size at first because it just seemed sooo big, but now, with all his stuff in it, it seems perfect:)

I'm sorry they're sideways. I don't know how to fix it ):

The pics don't show, but 1" is way to wide for a Sun Conure. The max should be 3/4"

I think I fixed the pictures! They are 3/4" :) Just in one spot are they 1", and it's a spot he would have trouble getting to and trying to squeeze through. I'm probably going to get plexiglass and cover it, but watching him, I don't think his head would fit well there either and he's gone past it (and one bent part that is 1.25" that would be so easy for him to reach/get through etc. but it's up against the wall now) and hasn't even attempted. He's not much for escape tricks yet. I'm getting plexiglass for it though so don't everyone scold me at once :)

It looks so great!!

Plexiglass is hard to cut and work with. This is what I use to cover the top of my cage (to avoid bitten toes) and on back of cages (to save my wall from flung food).
It is hard plastic banister guard, and it works great. I used it also to cover the opening left by a breeder door on one of my cages, so that my Lovie doesn't escape

Thanks so much! That's a great idea:) I honestly don't even think he will try to get out (knock on wood) because in all the time I've had him he's never even tried to put his head through the bars on any cages, but I am going to do it just as a precaution. Better safe than sorry!

Yes you can't wait for him to try. It will always be when you're not home too! I meant to include the link to what I use : [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0000E2DIE]Kidkusion Kid Safe Banister Guard:Amazon:Baby[/ame]
