It is a piece about 1/2" by a little more than that
a flap, actually, on the upper left side of her beak. (She's a Blue and Gold Macaw)
It looks clean, so I put a little Neosporin under it and
gave her a soft dinner, oatmeal and pumpkin and she seems happy.
She was screaming a lot earlier, and hubby thought maybe it hurt her, but when I check it and looked under it, she didn't flinch or seem in pain.
Oh, yeah, I also added vitamins to her water. I keep forgetting. I have Avian Medicine Chest vitamin powder, and the birds all like it.
I wish that company never went out of business, their
stress drops were the only thing that ever stopped Bubo from feather-chewing.
Anyone have any other ideas about the beak? I thought of glue, but don't know what vets use.
