Hi, i bought a lovebird pair on January 2013, and now they started laying eggs. she laid her first egg on 7th of this month and the second egg today. So i am hoping that its a 100% guaranteed pair :). From my researches i came to know that birds need lot of calcium and healthy food during egg laying period. that's why i tried to give them some fruits and vegetables. even bought a cuttlefish bone, but they don't eat any of them. they only eat the lovebird mix seeds. So can anyone help me with this :D

note: i Bought my lovebirds from a pet shop, they are not friendly. so can't hand feed :orange::rainbow1:

aww congrats! mine are laying now too :D yes lots of calcium needed try crushed up boiled egg shell and all mine love that and also you can get a special food that has extra calcium mine are on Kaytee Forti-diet lovebird/conure food and they get eggs, fruits, veggies, beans, rice, and they have a cuttlebone they occasionally nibble on. Good luck I hope your eggs are fertile and the birds are good parents so you dont have to handfeed, in case they arent good parents you should ask some breeders around you if they will show you how to handfeed and do lots of research on that cause its dangerous and hard but sometimes necessary.

Hi, i've seen your bird pics that u shared on Facebook. whats that nesting material u've provided for them :rainbow1::orange:

I use: Care Fresh, its a nesting material you can get form any petco/petsmart but I only get the non colored one I dont trust dye. You can also get really fine pine shavings I know some people who use that.
