Boomer, thanks for the idea with the Happy hut
And kellie when it comes to Jacob Im not too worried, he don't like the idea of flying away, he don't try to, and he got out a while back afte rI first found him and he was still flighted, he comes back once he figures out how to descend. Once I find a good way to get him into a harness I will let the wings grow back out and train him for future free flight. He even got chased by a territorial bird at that place and he was far away down the block and then some, I called him and he doubled back, he just don't know how to land or figure out the height so to say, he needs training in that. Once that's good, he is good to go and he loves it. He is also very bomb proof, I got this odd bird who's not scared of anything, we have ridden the train, been in public areas and he's just chill, this guy will go to anyone and let anyone pet him, BUT if they try to take him from me and ask him to step up he will pinch them. If I take him and him over he's fine, and anyone is allowed to pet him, and he will try to feed the world. .(flirt bird)
Accidents can happen of course and its always a calculated risk, but that goes for most things in life, that day it wasnt very windy for example..And if Im by the road, he's in his carrier for example, until we come to final destination but he really enjoys the outings oh and riding in the car oh lordy he loves it.
He just enjoys being out so much that I cant take it away from him for fear of what can happen. If its very windy yes I do not take him out, or he's out in his carrier or we go to Petco. If there's a ton of dogs that are unruly in Petco I pop him back into his carrier too those kinda of things, but he's out and about a lot. Keeps him tired too and out of trouble.. LOL and he's finally starting to utilizing his gym and ladder more, has taken him a little while to really accept it..
