This maybe the wrong place for this.

Today we have lost the none feathered bird that was fundamental in setting in motion Auckland Bird Rescue.
R.I.P.
Pam Howlett

Pam ran the Panmure branch of Auckland Bird Rescue.

I would like to say Farewell to Pam as she crosses the Rainbow Bridge.
May peace be with her.

Sad loss, my condolences to her family and friends.
May the Panmure branch of Auckland Bird Rescue, continue in her memory.

It's always sad to lose someone prominent in helping animals in need.
I'm sure her good work will be continued by others and may it be an example for all to follow.

RIP

That's so sad. :(

I feel for Pam's family, I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers. I also have hopes that someone will come along and take Pam's good deeds even further.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts!

I am sorry to say it is her flock of birds that also need special thoughts, As they have also joined her, in crossing the Rainbow Bridge.
This is so sad, I cannot tell you the numbers. And unavoidable. Life sucks.
It seems the branch is now closed and am not sure what the future holds.
I think there is some hope, but legal issue's may get in the way to reopen at Pam's address.

Yesterday we had the Memorial Service for Pam as she crosses the Rainbow Bridge.

I was asked that if I went, would I take Zambezie along, as this is in part respect for what Pam has been to Auckland Bird rescue, and SPCA Birdwing.

So I put it all on the line I took Zambezie and Potato along. Rainbow Lori's.
One on each shoulder most of the time.
They were so good, Zammy kept his mouth shut at the right times. it's almost like they could sense when to keep quite.
I even had them both sharing a sandwich with me. Wholemeal egg and ham of course!
I shared my orange drink with them as well.

What a buzz having two of the rescue birds put on such a good show for Pam and the rescue.
This was Potato's first big day out, I have only been working with him since mid May. His last owner said they never had him out of the cage in five years.
So for Potato it was a super big biggy.
Even free in the car, going there and coming back they were real good.
I do not cage them in the car, they were free to move around.
Another No! No! to some. Sorry I have seen birds get knocked around in a cage in a car and it is not pretty.
We move all wild birds and untame caged birds in boxes or bigger birds in covered holding cages.

Good Bye Pam and may peace be with you.
And know we will do whatever we can to full fill your dreams.
Clive
