Lorikeet might be choking idk

I let the bird take bites of a carrot then he started doing strange things and after 20 minutes or so he started to breathe a bit heavier then after an hour he stopped doing it could he have swallowed the part that was stuck or what

I tried googling the choking symptoms but couldn't really understand them

Dont lorikeets subsist on nectar and mostly soft fruits? I dont think carrots and hard crunchy vegetables are in their natural diet.

I did a bit of research on what they can eat and I found that carrots are apparently one of the better things to feed a lorikeet

Orange vegetables such as carrots, sweet potato and pumpkin are ideal. Apples, beans, berries, broccoli, carrots, celery, grapes, mango, melon, pears, parsley, pasta, rice, spinach, sweet corn (fresh), oranges and strawberries are other good choices. You can also supplement your lorikeet’s diet with apricot or peach fruit juice."

The website is a veterinarian website and other people have said the same thing thats why I fed him it.
