Id think the younger the better as i have 2 dogs and a cat.. They are fine but dont want to stress birdie! I plan on not clipping wings n never locking cage but when i am at work i do plan on locking birdie in my bedroom so my others cant get in. Any further questions please just ask ! I am in central jersey on the shore

hello, the birds you are looking into are very intelligent and could easily escape an unlocked cage. Even if it is locked in your bed room, it could still get into trouble, just a word of caution. Local bird shelters and classifieds are great ways to find a bird in need of a home. Rescue birds can come with some baggage, but with training and dedication, can become wonderful companions. welcome to the forum and good luck finding a bird :).
