Hi people of the forum, first time possible bird owner here :)

Habe been to visit a gorgeous boy ekkie by the name of roku twice in the last few days, he is 6 months old healthy lil guy... great owners and people that have him atm but unfortunately just habe the time he needs to spare and spend with him, so im looking at bringing him into my home as i have way too much spare time in my life

Now ive done alot of research on his species, and i mean lots and also parrots in general...

Everything seems fine with him, his pleasent, calm and very easy to pet/hold and get close to... his very well looked after in his current environment and has been head raised since he was young

Only issue i see -whether or not this is and issue- is the times ive visited he squawks constantly, though its a dull and quixk squawk its very constant and the same probaly every mi ute or 2.... just want to know what this could mean and some ideas if its and actual problem?

Whether a change in environment and people would help this or ???

Thanks in advance

Shaun

Male eclectus can be chatty, but probably more so as a visitor. Of course plan for the screach time, especially if things are goin on around the house that is unexpected. As you probably have read so much, commitment not just for the good food, housing, time spent, number of years, but also vet bills. Rewards are massive payback, my almost 20 year old sitting right behind me as I type.

yea when Max was that old i thought wow not to much noise at a year he chats it up all day,at a year and a half he is starting to put words together himself . when he is out of cage then only a word or so or one of the little cute sounds that they make. now i have Max in a big window so if someone is in the yard he will get loud to let me know something is there he don't quite understand, or like, so the shades get pulled, in the mornings he can get a little loud but he also understands the words calm down, so he is pretty easy to turn the volume down on, now when the other birds are on a tear he join's in of course. 6months old is the weaning period,at least that's how long it took Max. are the people you are getting this from breeder's?
