Hi, I'm Rowan. Phlox is actually my 6 mo. old Cinnamon GGC. I also have an 18 yr old ringneck dove named Spirit, a 14 yr old Lutino Hen Cockatiel named Mishka and a 4 yr old wild color budgie named Finnella.

In the past I had a Nanday conure who alas had to go live in a one bird home since he just despised other birds, several cockatiels, budgies and finches over the years, a rescue sun conure named Tika who lived with me for ten years before she passed away and a rescue GCC named Latka who also has gone over the bridge.

I'm trying to convince a less than ideal parrot owner to rehome her Rainbow Lory with me and recently found out I'm in a will to care for a 25 yr old yellow naped Amazon. I'm here for new tips and discussion for my current FIDs and to learn more about lories and Amazons, since I don't have hands-on experience with either of them yet.

Hello Rowan and welcome! Phlox is a beauty I would also love to see pictures of your other fids as well, sounds like you have a wonderful flock! I will keep my fingers crossed that you are able to bring home the Lory, and there are several people on the forum that have them and can help There are also sections devoted to amazons and lories which have tons of great information

Thanks for the welcome! The poor lory is eating seeds and pellets only, and her cage was frightening. I know its a she because there were two broken lory eggs in the bottom of the cage

Luckily, the amazon's dad is still doing okay, but he's pretty elderly and its unfortunately just a matter of time before he won't be able to care for her anymore. Because it will be abrupt when in does happen, I want to make sure I'm well prepared!

Hopefully I can get some more photos up soon. My avatar is actually my Latka from before he passed away. He was my husband's best buddy. You should have seen my husband's eyes light up when I brought the new Cinn GCC home!

Here's an older photo, back when I was able to give my birds a whole room. (It honestly didn't really work out because they got so skittish. They do better in a flight cage with one on one, but I digress. I do miss the cool wall painting though.)

The grey and white face pied belonged to my in-laws and I was just watching them for an extended visit. The Lutino is Mishka, the dove is Spirit (who loved to put his tail in the water dish right after the GCC made pellet soup, hence the staining) and the former GCC Latka.

Here's my baby GCC Phlox...may be the same breed at Latka, but she's a very different bird. Even her little face looks different to me. Excuse the low res cell phone photo.
