Kyleigh, my B&G, asked me for a climbing net to go on the ceiling of her indoor aviary.

I'm not a DIY type of person, or else I would make one. But! I have a job and can buy one lol...Anybody have a credible place/person I can buy from?

I've made a few of them so far~ I could make you one...

Or you can check out stores like Mysafebirdstore.com or drsfostersmith.com

I had mine made to order by these guys. Be sure and let them know what you are using it for, because they are a marine supply house.

"Pet quality" rope is different from marine grade rope.

Pacific Fibre & Rope

I ordered from here.
Best Selection of Cut-to-Length Rope - Knot & Rope Supply

I left them a comment on the order to make sure everything was untreated and bird safe, they called me back personally to let me know they get a lot of orders for bird items and that it was safe, so I recommend them for sure. They also do custom orders, not sure about a cargo net.

I also use them, and their Manila rope is most definitely UNTREATED-- it even says so on their product description. [emoji41]

made Loki's myself, wouldn't recommend that route to anyone......

There's a couple different knots you can use, but it's definitely a challenging process!! Lol. After a few of them, you get the hang of it though...

Yeah, it wasn't really the knots that got me. I used 3/4" sisal rope and that stuff is pretty coarse. I made a pretty big net and had to pull a lot to get the knots tight, so my hands were pretty chewed up when I was done.

You should see my hands after working with coconut fiber rope! It's like working with steel wool.

Yeah, it's pretty rough!! One time I decided to crochet a plant hanger out of sisal twine-- one word: blisters. That was pretty dumb, but the plant hanger is pretty cool! LOL

Manila IMO isn't as prickly as sisal, but it can still be rough to work with....

I got these tie hangers from IKEA I was gonna tie a couple of them together with rope and use them for Leo as a climbing net.

I saw someone take an old soccer ball net and frame it with PVC piping to allow their mac to climb.

I have an Aronico and absolutely love it. Warning, keep in mind extra length for the drop arms. I got the large 8x4 and span across the entire bird room and still slacks close to the floor, just high enough she can't climb down.
