A lady is Queensland who makes lots of cute clay animals! I bought a cockatiel one from her when I was visiting my uncles a few months ago. And decided to commission her to make a Sunny. I had a big lump in my throat as I unpacked him. Gosh I miss him more than anyone could know..

So now I have a Sunny and a Percy :)

The lady's got talent!

^he opening of the box must have been a heart moving moment!

Remember, you always have friends that understand here!!!

I know: it's a pain that never goes away, isn't it?

You simply *must* remember that you gave Sunny the best chance at living his best life and you were absolutely selfless in doing it. I would certainly never have been so strong. He'd have been living in a cage and muttering 'Sunny want a cracker' if I'd found him.

I don't care what you think! *I* believe Sunny's out there raising a family and doing what Nature called him to do. If he's raising chicks, he hasn't got the time (or the desire) to leave them and visit you. No. He's doing what you wanted for him all along and you get to have all the credit and kudos for that.

And now you have Percy, who won't fill the Sunny-shaped hole in your heart, but he will make his own funny little Percy-shaped place and help you smile again. Have you begun target-training Percy in his cage? Might be an idea? Get him ready for when he ventures out? :)

Love,

Thank you Trish xx

Percy is still petrified of me and won’t eat anything but seed so target training wouldn’t work yet unfortunately. He is starting to feel a bit more comfortable as he sings his heart out most of the day.. :)
