So, I've had Loki for almost a year now, and he's NEVER taken an interest to baths. If we placed him in the sink with Kiwi, he would just throw his wings in the air and stare at us until we removed him. So it was sort of a pain for us, but we did bathe him regularly(holding him under running luke-warm water and whatnot). He never bathed in his water bowl, either, so I just assumed that he didn't like standing water. He also would run from the spray bottle, so that was out of the question..
Well, the other day we placed a shallow dish of water in the cage.. and he literally JUMPED right in!! It was awesome!
Today I got him to take another bath(He was trying to take one under his water bottle..) and I got it on video. :) And I took a video of Kiwi, too, so she doesn't feel left out.

Yay Loki & Kiwi! (Can't leave Kiwi out!). It is so thrilling when they finally realize how wonderful a bath can feel:) Loki looked like he was having a blast in there!

Great move Loki you sure enjoyed your first real bath
Sure Kiwi did not feel left out, and it showed.
Love to see them wet LoL

Thanks for sharing

Thanks guys. :) Loki doesn't make any sounds during his bath, I'm sure he takes them very seriously ! Haha.
However.. Kiwi, on the other hand.. I'm surprised she was so quiet! You can hear Loki calling for her from the living room hah. Normally she has a few sounds she makes when she takes a bath. :p
Dang camera shy birds. :)

I bet Loki is quite the trickster. ;)

You'd win that bet!! :p
He's like the shy guy that prefers to do his own thing, so nobody expects it when he gets into trouble... haha.
Kiwi can fly even though she's clipped so when we hear something unusual we assume it's her! But, of course, most of the time it's Loki crawling around..:54:
Getting into the food bag, climbing up the bed sheets, checking out the lizard.. haha.

Way to go Loki and Kiwi. There is nothing better than watching a birdie enjoy their bath. So cute:)

I love to watch Skittles bathe. He jumps into his bathing dish (which is actually a casserole dish, lol) and he 'flutters' around splashing water everywhere and getting my shirt soaked.

He even stops near the end and tilts his head forward so I will cup water with my hand and pour it over his head. He's such a pampered little parrot.

Love the videos, Ashley! Do yu know how long I have to spray Bixby to get him as wet as Kiwi is in a few seconds? Smh. Wee bit jealous, here. Lol

Does everyone use filtered water to bathe their birds? On one hand I've ben told to use filtered water, and the other I see shower perches, sink bathtimes, and so on. What do you think? Or is filtered water much ado about nothing?

I give my birds filtered water for drinking, but for bathing, I don't have a water filter on any of my faucets or anything so we all(humans, too) shower in just regular water. I know in some places tap water can get pretty nasty, but here in Texas I've never heard anything frightening about the tap water.
