Hi everyone! I can't believe it's been two months since I brought my baby home (& he's definitely a mommas boy :09:) i haven't gotten him DNA tested yet though but i will soon.

I love him so much and i have no idea how i lived with out him!

I have to get him to eat more fresh fruits and veggies.... He is so picky, just like a child! So far the only veggies he eats is sweet potatoes and carrots... fruits, he loves bananas and watermelon lol.

He still nips at me but he is very aggressive towards my mom unless she has treats for him. Someone said it was because him and I are so bonded. Is there anyway to get him to be more accepting of her? He's also okay when other people come over, he willingly steps up most of the time. Could it be jealousy since most of the time it's just my mom and I and Loco?

Here are some recent pictures of my model ( I swear loco thinks he's a model sometimes)

What a sweetie! I love Loco's colours, they're gorgeous :) As for fixing things up with mom, I'd suggest teaching Loco to step up on her and giving him lots of treats every time they interact. Make sure she moves nice and slow, and that she talks gently to him so he knows what to expect. Watch his body behaviour so you know when is a good time for her to approach, or when she should stay back for the time being. It's really important to socialize these little guys because they can become extreme one person birds and potentially do flying attacks if they feel you're being threatened.

Thanks for your quick reply! He's getting a lot of blue on top of his head! And thank you for the tip ..she's a Lil timid with loco because he bites her, but I'm sure sunflower seeds will get him to accept her

Sunflower seeds!!! my little green-cheek JellyBean will do anything for them! Interesting, I have found that JellyBean is getting more possessive of me as he gets older (18 months now) so I am trying to make sure that he meets loads of mew people!

Aw Loco is a gorgeous bird! Can't say I agree with his choice of hockey team though :09:. We're Wings fans here. Our two dogs are even named after Wing's players Tuzzi (for Todd Bertuzzi) and Pasha (for Pavel Datsyuk).

GO HOCKEY!!!!

Loco LOVES sunflower seeds and will do ANYTHING to get them... and i mean anything. The other night, he saw me get the bag and leave it open on the desk next to his cage....(had to put something in the oven, so I turned my back on him for one second).. he flew (hes clipped but he can still fly short distances and glide to where he wants to go) to the bag, knocked it over and then landed on the floor on a huge pile of sunflower seeds!!!

I am on my way to the store to grab him a new veggie blend of pellets, some nutriberries (will be his first time trying them) and maybe some other yummy food I can cook for him. He's not much into "people food", I give him a little of what we have for dinner, he will taste it, and then shake his head and wipe his beak on my hand as if I've gotten him dirty. Dont even try to give this bird veggies, only sweet potatoes and carrots (because they're sweeter vegetables) Any suggestions on how to get him to eat something other than his pellets??? I give him seed one day only once a month and you should hear him lol, i love his little happy sounds he makes.

That's awesome! We haven't had Ducati long enough for him to be part of the hockey season. The dogs LOVE hockey season. We're pretty superstitious here. Shots for every period, goal, fight, and if an octopus gets thrown on the ice. The dogs get a little treat every time as well. Will have to start that with Ducati now! So excited! lol. Congrats on the Cup btw.

Oh for the veggies, I made him some chop and started putting some of his seed in it. It took a couple of days but now he hardly leaves any left.
