Update for Little Billy Hellspawn 🥰
He has moved into his own bachelor pad in the house, so I guess I now have a starter aviary. He gets very upset being in the main area of the house and though I feel badly for him being in a room it is giving him a lot more comfort and confidence so I guess I have to get over my own feelings on that until he is ready to be more involved in all the activity of the house. He is much happier having space to himself with us of the household coming to him to pay our respects in short treat filled visits :gcc: We are enslaved by this little green bird, even our eldest kitty, the patriarch of our critter family bows down to the majesty that is Billy. He laughs when we laugh, he meows at the cats and when the dogs bark creepily at the forest across the road he appropriately taunts them in return. He has ceased all headsplitting screeches and ventures outside his cage quite comfortably in his room. He is still quite disturbed by my hands and is quite keen on trying to amputate my fingers but will accept treats on occasion without incident. He is curious about sitting on my shoulder in that he seems to think he has to draw blood in order for that to be a safe place for him to sit upon, he loves his tours around the house but does not wish to explore on his own yet. Lately he has started to take a great interest in my ears so I have slowed waaaayyy down in the shoulder adventure department as I am not ready for bird inflicted body modification. Right now his favourite activity is for us to sit on the same chair in his room (he perches on the back of it) and we say ‘What!?’ At eachother getting quieter and quieter until one of us is whispering so quiet it is no longer a sound, and murdering his rope toy by chasing it down and shaking it to death which I recently discovered was something he was REALLY into.

I love your way with words :) thank you for this great update on you and your bird.

Your Billy sounds quite marvellous but you are definitely wise to restrict the shoulder surfing until he learns some manners. If indeed he ever does! Your relationship sounds wonderful though and I love reading about your exploits, keep em coming! :)
