Does anyone knows where can I find a list of parrot breeders?

Me and two colleagues build a worldwide list of animal breeders and we would like to interest parrot breeders to join our growing database.

If anyone is interested, feel free to enter:
animalmundo.net.

all the best,
Ted

I don't know exactly what kind of a database you're looking to establish, but many breeders will not give you much more than an e-mail address and/or a cellphone number because of the possibility of theft of birds by thieves or fear of facilities destruction & release of birds/animals by animal rights zealots.....

Goalerjones, many thanks!

Weco,
users can enter their emails and telephone numbers only, adding address and uploading images/videos/certificates is an option.
Our goal is to give the importer the maximum information about the breeder, as most of the lists we saw offers either a link to the website or just telephone/email.

All the best,
t.

As most large parrots are listed as either CITIES 1 or 2 ,US breeders won't be of much help to a importer. It;s a long ,difficult process for us US breeders dealing with USFW. I am listed on birdbreeders.com as are many US breeders/brokers.

hi henpecked,
are you satisfied with birdbreeders.com's website ?
I mean, is it user friendly enough, does it bring you enough clients ?

many thanks,
t.

I guess so. I move more birds there than anywhere else. easy enough for me to use. Enough clients ? is there ever enough? I have to turn down buyers from quatar,UAE, kuwait,S A , etc almost weekly. I'd love to have better access to US buyers.

Previously, when I commented, I couldn't figure out how a new breeder listing could be any more effective than what is currently available, given a breeder's cautions for providing any more information than they already do...

Your reply to Henpecked gave me a little bit more information...and while an international directory might well be interesting to a breeder, you/they have serious competition from rescues, flippers, people looking to re-home birds...all of whom are available through local selling/trading websites.

If your project is target marketing or internet site positioning, how would a breeder benefit when the bird community is trying to steer potential clients toward re-homing birds needing new homes rather than towards the breeder community. Yes, in some areas a particular specie may be very hard to find, but what about the various restrictions to moving certain species across borders?

If your database is an adjunct to the offerings of an existing website possibly there would be some merit.

Like the old TV commercial used to say.....inquiring minds want to know, Ted...

I'd love to have better access to US buyers.

It's bad enough my breeder is close enough, I am VERY glad you're not closer!! :D :p

weco,
We decided to build the global list as a result of a need of some colleagues who use to import all kinds of animals.
I'm aware every country has its limitations and legal issues, but I know there are hundreds of thousands (maybe more?) that are looking for breeders/exporters around the world. Its not so easy to find someone you can trust that you know nothing about him except an email/telephone.

again,
the user can decide to enter nothing but his email/telephone so he'll put himself at minimum risk.

Maybe the US isn't the market for our project, or maybe just birds export...
Can you guide me where can we get more info about other animals export from the US?

all the best,
t.
