It's still very much a work in progress. need another bowl holder, supplies to make toys, the energy to drill some holes in dowels so I can place them on the stand, etc. So if anyone wants to *cough* commission me for some birdy art, hmu in my PMs x'D

Anyways, Right now I just have a wooden ladder so he can get to the very top, he's good about climbing up and down the ladder. I then have a rope net but he's not very happy with that because it's a little loose so I wove some sticks into it to make it a bit more tense and he's warming up it a little. Then I have a rope boing that he will likely never use. Still a long way to go with it and it's not the prettiest thing, but it's a start.

(Ignore the mess that is my closet at the giant pink stuffed poodle x'D )

Impressive!

I love it. Now, my clumsy, reckless Rb would break his fool neck in a fab creation like that, but I bet clever, nimble Linkie-winkie will put on a real show for us!

He is surprisingly doing very well x'D at first he was just "yeah im not doing that" now he's maneuvering everywhere.

Looks like a plumbers nightmare! I mean that in a good way.

I also make play things out of PVC and use that same blue vet wrap. It really looks good!

It's really good quality and it was the cheapest I could find at maybe 1.30$ per roll while it was 4 inches wide and 5 yards long. I thought I would need a lot so I ordered 16 rolls and only used 4 and a half x'D oh well, lots for the future when it needs replacing.

I get mine at Tractor Supply. 1.30 a roll is cheap, where did you get it

Update: Got the supplies to make toys and was able to make a couple before I had to leave for errands and stuff. Also have a video that shows the toys in more detail, not sure if I will post it or not because it's just kind of me being all "um uh yeah"

That looks great! Much better than the ones I've built in the past.

FYI: Since you'll have to re-wrap it in the future because it is much, much easier to just re-wrap them than it is to try to scrub poop off of vet wrap, if you keep an eye out at your local tractor or farm supply store, I can usually catch vet wrap on sale for $1 a roll. I buy like a dozen rolls at a time when it goes on sale like that so I have them. Not a huge difference in price, but it adds up over time.

Thanks for the advice, now to find such a store xD

Wow, that's an awesome playstand, nice work Owlet! I'm very interested to see how this grows and develops overtime. Can't wait to see pics of Lincoln hanging out there!

I know there are Tractor Supply stores in Colorado, they would carry vet wrap. Any other similar store should carry it as well. Basically anywhere that would carry livestock supplies.

There are but not really in my general area. I live in a more "prim and proper" part of Colorado and there aren't many farms unless you drive for a bit out of town.

I love everything about the stand!! Toys look great -- can't wait to see what Lincoln thinks of it!

It does! I've had him on vet wrap before because he hurt his foot so I wanted to put him on some softer perches to avoid re-opening the wound and I think he liked it.

Looks awesome! I've made a ton of PVC stands, play gyms, etc. over the years, I have one gym that takes up the entire room! I love PVC, it's cheap (I usually buy my stuff at Lowes, more size options and a lot more attachments, couplers, etc. than Home Depot, plus Lowes is half the price), and I too buy all of my Vet Wrap at Tractor Supply...ALWAYS CHECK THE MANY, MANY SALE/CLEARANCE BINS AT TRACTOR SUPPLY FOR VET WRAP, I GET PACKS OF 6 LARGE, WIDE ROLLS FOR $2! Even if not on-sale, Tractor Supply is cheap for the Vet Wrap...

FYI to anyone who makes their own toys, in the past few months, at least at the 2 Walmarts within 5 minutes of my house (yes, State College has 2 Super Walmarts literally 3 minutes from each other), they have been increasing their Crafts section, and have added a ton of new stuff to make bird toys with. I used to buy stuff online or at Michaels, but now Walmart has everything that Michael's has. They've added both plain and colored wood blocks, sticks, round balls, squares, triangles, etc., all dyed with vegetable dye, all kinds and sizes of ropes, twines, plastic and wooden chains, all of the necessary connectors, etc. Everything. Check it out because it's cheap!
