I was just wondering what some of your birds likes and dislikes were

For example I have 2 BF zons
Parker my boy seems to prefer natural things like coconut stuff, and shredables like palms to colorful wood but he likes to attack acrylic toys
he also loves the cinnamon sticks. He pays almost no attention to the foraging toys

Charlie on the other hand like to destroy colored blocks and is a genius when it come to all the plastic foraging toys but she won't have anything to do with the cinnamon sticks and seems to care less about the naturals toys

Just wondering what other species like and if you have more than 1 of the same type bird that have different taste in toys

I've tried cinnamon sticks but Rosie and Kenji were both uninterested.

Rosie is SUPER picky, When I buy toys for her it's always hit or miss. She is super food motivated though and loves foragings toys. So far she(and kenji, they share) has the wheel of fortune, foraging boxes, and a foraging wheel. She hates wooden toys because she isn't a chewer. One of the few things I've discovered she likes is dried kerneless corn used on planet pleasures toys.

Kenji isn't nearly as picky. His two favourites are foragings toys, and wooden toys, and toys that include plastic wiffle balls. He just LOVES destroying pretty much any toy. But if the wood is really thick he has trouble and gets bored with it. Other woods that he dislikes are coconut shells, and bamboo. After trying to please Rosie for so long I get a ton of satisfaction from watching Kenji readily accept and destroy toys LOL

Charlie figures out the foraging toys so quick it makes me think twice before buying new ones...She has the blue circle one and she even figured out how to remove the plastic cones that you put the treats into...I just got her the zig zag circle and once she figured out that it had food in it, it took her about a minute to get the almond out... if anyone has any harder one please let me know...lol...

Hahaha! I have the same problem with Kenji! He is so smart! The foraging wheel works great, I stuff the compartments with paper over the treats. It makes it much more time consuming lol without the paper it's horrid easy XD

Only downside is it has a SS screw, it needs to be really tight or they can unscrew it lol

Paris love stuff she can rip up and toss around! I want to get her a SS foraging bucket so we can stuff foot toys and food stuff in it. She also like hanging toys she can get in and under.

Spirit needs to have small bird chew toys and leather stuff because of his beak. Foraging toys will not work for him at all.

Danny needs non-scary everything! And to be wrapped in bubble wrap!

Demon loves swings and wicker chewables! Hates plastic stuff.

When talking about likes and dislikes, it reminds me of when I still had Noel... and I had gotten Charlie.

Noel hated cats.
Charlie hated dogs.

Noel liked different foods.
Charlie is picky about his foods.

Noel had multiple health problems.
Charlie was healthy.

Noel couldn't fly.
Charlie could fly.

Noel preferred being around other birds.
Charlie prefers being around humans.

Noel was a mostly hands off bird.
Charlie is a very hands on bird.

Noel was quiet. (once thought he was loud!)
Charlie is noisy.

Noel loved chewing things.
Charlie just liked beating the crap out of things!

Honestly? I was surprised they weren't opposite colors!!!

The cockatiels seem to enjoy easy shredables. Yucca. Craft sticks. Hay. Palm fronds. Wicker. Sometimes beads and shiny objects as well. Not big on tougher to chew items like wood!

Jayde seems to enjoy wood, cardboard, paper sticks, pinecones, rope, bells....

Charlie chews yucca up and beats the crap out of a few items. Oh, and bottle caps! He enjoys playing with bottle caps. Even likes it if I put water in them. Yucca and balsa are the only things he can really chew on, so I don't give him "hard" woods very often.

i'm now curious to see what kinds of things our new little girl likes...so far if I am using it she likes it...lol. her favorite is the mouse when I am using the computer...I tried giving her an old one but she wants the one I am using...lol

Off the top of my head...

Likes: sweet corn, duvets, rolling on her back, houseguests, headrubs, zippers, unhealthy food, ponytails, paper, Danny the babysitter, chewing fingers, hoodies, throwing food, towels, wicker chairs, falling asleep on my chest, helping to play the piano, laptops and tv remotes, millet , silkscreen designs on t-shirts, scaping her beak up and down on textured surfaces.

Dislikes: rope perches, violins, people outside the living room window, broccoli, bedtime, mobile phones, things being dropped, the word "no", interfering with pin feathers, the vet, birds of prey on the tv, the cat's tail (rest of the cat is fine), my friend Vanessa, baths, fruit, washing machines, people who spend their time on internet forums when they should be entertaining their parrots.

She's reminding me of the last one just now...

Ill tell you about my caiques [since you just got one] .They both like swings and boings [also tons of different toys. They really like foot toys and [balled up newspaper, pinecones].They both love to bounce and swing. Their hearty eaters [best ones of my bunch] So variety is great. I attach toys to the top of their cages .They love it and are good staying up there and playing . Differences- the males really neat and the females very messy LOL

Oh I forgot .Caiques love pens and pencils [of course they cant have them ]. They will fight you to the death if they get something the cant have [you will see :)] My friend on here told me about cutting the heads off of toothbrushes [those work].

you can get fake pencils from my safe bird store...I have given her pens but taken out the insides

Chili LOVES anything shreddable- she's been shredding paper all morning lol
Other things she likes:
Buttons, zippers, yucca, hanging upside down on the boing, shiny things, crunchy things, noodles, sitting in her window yelling at things outside (lol), and I'm sure there's more...

Dislikes: big wood blocks (prefers ones she can chip away like 1/4" thick), the color orange, when I don't share my food, and I think that's it for now...

When my Galah Jennifer was alive . If she didn't like things she would raise her wings and scream at it [getwozzy is your girl doing this ?} Toos are sensitive to bright things. Jennifer was also afraid of flies when she was on top of her cage.

I love reading these! I can't wait to bring Jenga home and get to know her!

So far though I have noticed while visiting her at the rescue center that she likes soft food vs. hard food (grapes vs. almonds) as treats. I also think she likes the color purple - she always goes to chew on purple things more than other colors. She likes to chew wood.

I hope she likes her playgym!

If Alice is scared of something she'll fully spread her wings and fan her tail along with putting her crest up - it's quite something! The last thing she did that to was a new rope perch I tried to put in her cage.

Yeah- when chili is scared of something, or it's questionable she puts her wings up all the way and raises her crest in "alert mode" lol.
