Leg leashes? ya or nay?

"Monkeys think they taste good, too!" A responsible and knowledgeable person would have taken that opportunity to let his audience know that the saliva from mammals is toxic, and what to do if your bird gets slobbered on. Oh wait, a responsible person wouldnt have let it happen to start with...

This is yet another example of the difference between a "pet lover" and a "knowledgeable person." Just because you love pets and live with them doesnt mean you automatically know what they need. If it did, we would never hear dogs barking all night or see them dragging their owners around on leashes. People need to RESEARCH! He seems to have never given a second thought to HOW and WHAT his pets think and need - I pity his poor parrots it is a wonder they are fully feathered and not biting him or screaming. Of course we only see what "makes the cut" for TV...

I know I'm getting in a little late on the discussion here, but I thought leg leashes for parrots were along the lines of straight dowels, all-seed diets, tiny decorative cages and single-wing clipping....*USED* to be commonplace (as in 30,40, 50+ years ago), but have since been realized to be unsafe, cruel and are no longer used or recommended by anybody. I'm absolutely shocked to hear anyone dredged these torture devices up from distant history to promote them on a tv show! Thats a great way to break your birds leg or dislocate their hip. Unreal this kind of material is out there, and no doubt on that type of show, targeting new or inexperienced pet owners who don't know better:mad:

Basically the drift I got as well. I had never heard of this guy until today, but now he is on my list of quacks.
