Danny has not been wanting to come out of his cage in the last week. So I tried some thing today. I filled his food bowl and placed it on the playstand. He saw me do this and screamed at me when he saw it going some where other then his cage. I asked if he wanted to come eat and he said no. I closed his cage and walked away. Leaving the stand where he could see it. When I came home at noon today I again asked if he wanted out. This time with much screaming he stepped up. I put him on the stand where he went nose deep into his lunch. When he was done we had play time then back to his cage. I plan to do this again at dinner.

When Merlin is not interested in coming out of his cage, I ask him if he wants a nut. It's amazing how quickly his attitude changes. lol. The magic word is "nut".

I think your going to have a great relationship with Danny. Most zons seem to react well to confident owner "calling the shots". I predict things will get better and better. That old adage " the way to man's heart is through his stomach" seems to apply to male zons. Keep up the good work !!

Thank you Henpecked. Danny does seem to responded to a firmer hand then the African Grey. I really love the zon attitude he has. My issue is in my studying I have fallen in Love with the Imperial, don't think I will ever find one. :(
