I've had a situation pop up in that I have no choice but to take a long day trip this up coming week. I would have to leave at 10 am and probably won't be getting home until 10 or 11 pm. I would be able to get two hours of cuddles and fun with Pip that day, do you all think it is okay for me to leave him that long? I did have a sitter for the day that was originally scheduled but no one is available on the day that it was changed to.

I think it will be ok for one day. I feel guilty when I have to go wrk for 8hrs so I understand not wanting to leave your parrot alone that long. I usually leave lots of foragers for entertainment and the tv on so my GCC doesn't feel alone when I'm working.

Thank you! I do feel awful guilty! I have meetings like this every 7-8 weeks and usually someone is around to pop in on my pets.

He will be fine for one day. Just make sure he has enough food and water and tell him sorry, you have to be gone all day but, you will see him late tonight.

Don't sweat one day. Food, water, and entertainment are super important. Also, I don't know what the ambient temperature inside your home is during the heat of the day, but if it gets hot make sure Pip has a way of getting out of the heat.

Yeah twelve hours is fine. When you get home, if you wake him up he may want to play for a bit, that's fine even if it's interrupting his sleep cycle for a bit, he probably already had a nap or two. He'll adjust ok, and it's worth it to him. If you don't wake him up then leave him till morning.
