Periwinkle has been with us for two weeks as of yesterday, Honeydew hasn't even been here a week yet, so they are still skittish, wary, etc.
However, Peri is noticably more trusting already than Honey, so I feel I am making some progress, however slow.
They don't totally freak when I am tidying the cage every morning now. And though they are still VERY wary of my hands, if I move slow enough and talk softly, no one panics.
I'm not going to push them any further yet, until they are well and truly settled in.
Thought you all might enjoy a few more pics. You can click on them to view them larger.
This is their preferred sleeping spot for now. It's the highest place in the cage they can get to, unfortunately on top of a toy.
I'm hoping when they are a little less scary, they pick a more comfortable place to sleep, lol.
I cover the cage loosely with a thin sheet around 7:30 or 8 every night so that they can feel tucked in, and uncover them about the same time in the morning.
They play for a while before eating breakfast, and then they spend an hour singing on the pumice perch. I'm guessing that is normal behavior, lol.
