Don't be spreading your contagious MBS ( multiple bird syndrome) over here! Lol
We are trying to spread that over in Cotton's new home! She hasn't built up any immunity yet ;)

I think Penny Channeled her inner Sun conure today anyway....thankfully so hopefully I'm safe.

I love how your new sun and cinnamon ( maybe Ceylon..like a Ceylon cinnamon) chose yiu so clearly! Glad you are happy

Enjoying the spring air . Also so can mop the floor

i can see snuggle huts

First birds can chew cotton strings from the happy huts and as i said its can cause a crop infection it also can cause hormonal problems which you definitely don't want in bird mating and breeding season there are many bird reviews on amazon's happy hut that there birds got strangled from the happy hut strings you can check for yourself it's really dangerous, if you think your bird needs a happy get a natural huts for bird it's better and safer

I proudly do this , and talk about it.

Quakers live in a community structure year round not just for breeding. I found a conure study that also observed them using tree hollows year round and not just for breeding .

I'm some species, providing anything that might be perceived as a nest can be in an issue. Those coconut given to budgies, as this species only uses hollows for breeding. In my species it never has.. I don't have hormonal issues, or this triggering hormonal issues.

Impaction not infection
I have a very graphic link in my ornithology thread, about the risks of crop impaction. Any threads from chewing rope perches, felt toys, clothing, that white rope that many toys use, some of that plastic braided rope , stuffed toys I've seen some people let their psrrots have any fuzzy stuff that little fibers can be pulled off is a risk. Any threads can also wrap around their tongue. All of thst doesn't break down and can build up in crop. In the dissection of crops the rope perch threads seemed to be the worse. They need to be replaced if chewed on, and if a parrot is very prone to this not used at all.

I replace any and all chewed on stuff. For example Pheobe is a big rope chewer when caged so she can't have any rope perches in her cage. But when out doesn't.

I love and care for my parrots, they mean the world to me!!! I've discussed use of sleep tents with my own avian certified veterinarian, and she is fully supportive. I live, breathe, research, observe, and think about parrots, have over 20 years caring for them, as well as advanced training in avian medicine. So for me and my species, sleep tents are an important part of that.

I will ask you to respect that, its an informed choice.

I do not belittle your concerns, it's not the right choice for all species , or if was a trigger for an individual.

Penny is such a lucky and cute bird , the rainbow is on him why because penny is a treasure
that's why the rainbow is on him

Thanks, I think if you look through this thread it is filled with health ( whole post on veggies), love look at all my pictures of love ( I don't share pictures culdled with me, privacy) and happy parrots. Clean large cages, enrichment, toys.

Can I ask this (as a non-snarky comment): How long have you had birds?

That sounds snarky, but it's a genuine question, and I'm not gonna judge you by the years you've owned birds.

Yeah i can see but one more q why did you leave the down in the cage empty?

Many birds only use the top of their cages, so it doesn't make sense to have stuff at the bottom.

Woooow 20 years that's impressive i plan to be like that too
