It has been 6 weeks since I adopted Charley from an ickey home....We saw the vet when I got her, and she was put on antibiotics for wheezing and sneezing. She appears fine (no nasal discharge or runny eyes) and shows much interest in eating new foods (altho she won't touch any pellets yet). Charley's previous diet consisted of sunflower seeds and peanuts.....
We got the lab results from Charley's latest vet visit, and it shows that her white blood cells are high (15,000), and her potassium is high (9.4). Her vet can't figure out why.....Charley appears fine and looks fine and acts fine. So we aren't treating her for anything. I am planning on moving Charley from her quarantine room to the sunny bird room since the vet approved no contagious diseases.
Does anyone here know about bird lab works??? Charley still sneezes, and breathes heavy when under stress....but,no wheezing....The vet seems that all is well!
