Koda the Starling Talks!

Despite having Koda since he was maybe a week old, we never really repeated words or put effort into getting him to talk. So imagine our surprise when, now at maybe 9 months of age, he starts speaking! Unfortunately he picked up the most repetitive phrases he hears throughout the day - "xbox on", "xbox play", "xbox go home", "xbox volume down". We have an Xbox One and we almost constantly use it for netflix, hulu, video games, etc... So of all things he has learned its voice controls. Luckily his little robotic starling voice is too garbled to direct the console!

That's hilarious! Clever Koda! Love the name! Now that Koda is talking, I bet his vocabulary grows rapidly.

Scott, there are many YouTube videos of talking Starlings. Some members here also have ones who talk. This video clip is a cute one. It takes him a minute or two to start being funny. LOL Our Zeki hasn't picked up the xbox noises. That is hilarious. You need to get a video of it! A lot of other folks I know with starlings, say theirs didn't really start up till they were closer to a year and some even older. I bet he'll be talking more and more for you.

Zeki has picked up a lot since this video. But then Zeki I think really likes to hear himself speak.
