Lilo - Female Green Cheek Conure ~ Pal - male cockatiel ~ Pheobe - female cockatiel
Hello all, as you may know, we recently got a puppy!! :D But now we have a kitten! I caught it with my raccoon trap, I have been trying to get him and finally success! He is a stray I think maybe a drop off? So my question is how can I tame him? He is black with white paws and a white chest. I named him Chi! He is in a cage now with food and water but he is just very shy! So what do you guys think? Sorry its not a parrot question...

Chi sounds JUST like my Mitty we just adopted as well...

We've been keeping Mitty in my office because it's quiet and a safe place for him to be, so I would suggest finding a room Chi can hang out in while he gets accustomed to living indoors and with people. You'll want to spend as much time with him as you can, and it doesn't necessarily need to be time petting him if he's not ready for that- just being in the same space without causing him stress is sometimes enough.

Mitty's mom is completely feral and has taken up residence in our barn, and just by me feeding her every day, twice a day, for a couple months now she's come to trust me and has recently allowed me to pet her...which is a huge step for her considering she's terrified of people in general.

So, it'll just take time and patience but eventually Chi will come around :) treats help too... Maybe some pâté cat food will win him over [emoji6]

I would also treat him for fleas as soon as you can (if you haven't already).

I would definitely take her to the vet. If she was outdoors i guarantee she has worms and fleas :x

Yes he will be leaving soon to go to the vet and sadly possibly the animal shelter. :( But I really want to tame him before he goes so he can maybe get a home better. Kids don't want a hiss scratchy kitten! I wounded why?

Aww he let me pet and hold him!! I wanted to see if he would let me and at first he did not want anything to do win my hand but then he calmed down and now he wants to be held! :D He is so happy and calm when I come to him! Such a sweetie! But I don't know what kind of diseases so I change my clothes to see him, is there anything else I can do so I don't get my other pets sick?
