Kito enjoying sunshine.

Its been a wonderful day here today, warm and sunny so we (Jemma and I) took Bucc and Kito outside, Bucc only stayed for a couple of secs, before wanting to come in again. Anyway, I've been working on the recall with Kito and he's doing very well, he came to us everytime we called him. Didn't manage to get any flying pics, well I did but the are really blurry, I was trying to take pic and get ready for him when he came in to land.

Hey Look at me Mum,

If I stay really still they won't know where I've gone.

Checking to make sure its good enough for aviary.

Now this is very blurry but thought I'd post it anyway.

Couldn't work out why Bucc wanted to come in so early, he usually loves being outside in this kinda weather, but when we came in, Bucc had made himself quite at home in Kito's cage and was happily eating everything in sight. Toys have even taken quite a battering.

Can I just change one word in that statement? I think that we should never underestimate our bird ... it's not just greys who can surprise you ... I think it's all birds who will just astound us if we let them! :57:

I had rox out yesterday. She loved the big old tree at the back of the house cause she could climb it.......I had to go get her

I had the same problem last year with Bucc, he managed to get really high in the tree, and I had to go get him as the leash was getting wrapped round branches. Andi came home and there was me and Bucc sat up the tree. Bucc was happy enough but I was scared stiff. It was Hubby to the rescue, laughing like a mad man, cos I'd been up there for about an hour.

LOL! True enough! I have had more things happen 'out of nowhere' to me with the birds than anything else!

Now, I think I have an interesitng fly away story...

I ride dressage and so I'm at a lesson, waiting for my dad. I am getting a little worried as he was supposed to be there 30 minutes ago. Well, we get a call from him...

He said my younger brother had taken Harley outside. She had gotten scared and flew ACROSS THE STREET AND ONTO THE NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE! OMG I was freaking out! I was literally making the horse (poor baby) freak out, she was getting fritchy on me, I was getting fritchy on her. My riding instructor was tellingme to chill out, everything's going to be ok. No, it wasn't ok in my mind. I had to get home, I had to rescue my bird, and had to save her- ME ME ME!!!

Well, my dad finally gets her, I get off the horse, just about faint and say that I am never taking her outside again, and the very next day I do!

About 6 years ago, I had taken Sisqo outside to play. He got scared and flew off. First he flew on top of my neighbor's house, and I couldn't get him down, then he flew down the block and in a tree. I couldn't get all the way to the top of the tree where he was though. Well after many hours of trying to get him, he took off again, and we couldn't find him.

We went to the pet store and told them about our situation. A couple hours later they called us and said that a woman that lived just a couple blocks away had found our bird and had called them. My sister and I went over to our house and were so excited. Until she told us that the owner of the bird had already come to pick him up! I was hysterical, crying like a baby on this woman's porch. Well, the next morning, the woman's husband came over and asked if I had a pic. of Sisqo. He saw it, and gave the bird back to me.

Apparently the woman had already grown attached to him, and she didn't want to give him back. What a witch.

OMG, When Bucc went up the tree, he was on a leash but still I was freaking out, I can't imagine how you two were feeling right then.

Nicole that must have been awful, thinking that you had found him, only to lose him all over again. Thank goodness that the womans Husband was a decent sort.

Well if that were to happen now, then there's no doubt in my mind that I'd be having a few words with that woman. Unfortunately, when I was 16, I was much more of a pushover than I am now....yeah....I'm that girl that goes in for an oil change and comes out with a radiator flush, re-done shocks and new tires And unfortunately, my parents and sister had left for West Virginia that morning, so they couldn't give her a piece of their mind either.
