I've had Tukki for about 2 and a half weeks now. Things are getting better every day! Can't believe I was so freaked out at fist!

Today for the first time she started making kissy noises at me and let me kiss her on the beak!:07:

She also started making little farty noises... hope that one doesn't become a favorite sound...

Oh, that's neat! You will soon be aware of how much you clear your throat, cough, burp, etc! These sounds are imitated and usually in a louder way than you do it, lol! My husband makes a honking noise when he blows his nose and he has allergies, so it's often that he blows his nose. Our lory will imitate the honking noise even if you just tear off a piece of paper towel! Evidently my husband uses paper towels to blow his nose sometimes, lol!

It's cute when we put our lory in her outside cage for a while and she's busy teaching the wild birds how to talk... and how to make kissing sounds... she'll yell out "KISSES!!" following by a very loud kissing noise! With us, she will say "I love you", followed by "give me a kiss!"

That is adorable!

She was making sneezing sounds the other day, so I FREAKED out and brought her in for a check up. Turns out she is fine and they thought it was just her imitating me sneezing. Freaked me out for nothing!

Haha! Yep, sneezing is another one imitated! Somehow our lory learned to say "Bless You!!" when one of us sneezes. Even if we sneeze in the middle of the night, we'll hear her shouting from across the house, "BLESS YOU, BLESS YOU"

I can't get over just how observant and alert these parrots are! I had my first lory for 5 years and this lory for 15 years, but it still amazes me! They never miss a thing, that's for sure. We can just roll over in bed in the morning, and even though she is clear across the house in a room with her door shut, she will hear us and know we're awake, and start shouting "COME HERE!!" "Want some food? Mmmmm, yum yum!!"

Little update, didn't feel like making a new thread.

Tukki let me scratch her head for the first time tonight!!!!!! And she let me scratch her little neck poof! I donno what it's called... but I have been dying to pet that puffy little poof on her neck cause it's so cute and silly, and tonight she let me :)

What's better is that I was video chatting with my mom and my amazon (who lives with her) so my mom got to see Tukki's first scratches. SO happy :)
