Right now Mango had his wings clipped, if I was to let his feathers grow back in and it doesn't work out can I clip him again without any ill effect.

Sometimes he tries to fly off his cage to me and its quite sad he can't reach me.

.........to let his feathers grow back in and it doesn't work out .........

He is a BIRD.....How is it possible for it not to work out?????.......LOL
Only if you don't like it. He will love it, I can tell you right now.
Most likely you will have to teach him a little.
I've read that any bird need to learn to fly for self confidence.
You can always clip the wings.

I asked my RFM Valentino's breeder to send him to me unclipped. It was important for me to not have his flight feathers clipped. I even prepared my home for a flighted baby parrot. This is a decision I never regretted even when Valentino is full of himself.

As a baby arriving to a place he has never been to and exposed to people he has never met I was very pleased with how confident he was. His flying ability was amazing and he never crashed or wreaked anything in my home. The flying ability of a RFM is beyond anything I have ever experienced. I will never clip his flight feathers.

Let his flight feathers grow out and train him for recall. That is the first thing I trained Valentino was recall. It helped form a bond between us and I had to teach him how to fly down to me from a height above...very important skill in case he ever escapes.

Even though Valentino's flight skills have improved the only thing I find kind of annoying is how fast he will fly to me and smack into me when landing on my shoulder or hand. He use to land on me real soft like and angel but now he flies at me so fast he has smacked his beak on my head. LOL.
