Hi all! So, Iāve been thinking of getting a sun conure, which has to stay outside year-round. During the warmer months, this is no problem because I have a nice shaded spot for the hot days. I also will be free flight training outside in a netted area to begin with. My family and I spend a lot of time outdoors anyway, so socializing is not an issue.
Now for the winter months, Iāve been developing a plan. I would construct a shed: using wood, wraps, insulation, etc. And I would keep the cage within this shed (big enough for the cage + extra room). Now I know heaters may cause issues with the conure, so would I use heat lamps instead? Is there any advice to make this as bird safe during the winter as possible? Or is it not do-able.
Thank you!
