So Kali's sneezing has gotten worst and she had a red flushed face and nasal discharge this morning. I took her to the vet this morning and they seem to think she has an allergy to plastic. Im going to remove all the straw toys I made.
They did blood and fecal test but I wont hear back on them for about a week.
I hope we can figure out whats going on. I worry about her.
I will update when everything comes back.

Our German shepherd has a plastic allergy. Can't use toys/bowls without swelling and redness on his nose

Oh dear. I'm hoping they figure out what it is and that she's ok. At least your finding out about any potential allergens sooner than later.

I know you put a lot of effort into making all those beautiful toys:(. Perhaps if Kali is allergic, you could still put them to good use and donate them to an avian shelter:)

I'm sorry to hear. I've never heard of such a thing, but like goalerjones says his dog has that too, then hopefully it's a correct diagnosis

Poor Kali. I hope she's ok. Let us know when you find out the test results.

If it is just an allergy to plastic I will be happy... and maybe its just certain types of plastics. Unfortunately most of my toys I made had plastic components so I had to make her all new ones today. She appears to be doing a little better now.
I lent my carrier to a friend so I had to use the harness today... I didn't want to rush her in getting in it but had little choice. She actually did pretty well and didn't mind it to much.
After we got home I took her for a walk (took advantage of having the harness on) and a storm came. She LOVED being out in the rain. She started squaking, wagging her tail around, and flapping her wings.
I think it made her feel a lot better after that great shower.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes:) I will be sure to post whats going on.

Or my house... ;)

I'm glad you took Kali to the vet and didn't wait. :) KUDOS to you for doing that.

If you've removed all the plastic things, you "should" see an improvement in her sneezing by now. How is she doing???

I had a HUGE smile on my face when you described Kali's reaction to the rain. And how awesome that you got her into the harness like that!!! :)

Thinking of you and your precious girl. :)

Wendy,
She is doing a lot better. I am still not sure if she is allergic to plastic or what. I am thinking I had it to cold in here for her.. I had it set at 74 now I have it at 80 per vets recommendation....she seems to like it a lot more and is thriving in the warmer temperature, I on the other hand am sweating and hot all the time. Whatever it takes to make her happy:rolleyes:
She has said her third word today and its the best yet! I came in from work and went in and greeted her and she said daddy:30:
The results from the blood test have not come back. It should be back in a couple days.
