...I know...me bad....I put Martini in the bedroom with my other birds a wee bit early:rolleyes:

so here is the problem....I had Martini out yesterday by herself....she LOVES the bedroom, lots to explore and of course had to check out her new rivals:p

today I let out Kahlua,Flare(conures) and Halo(lovebird)

I open the door to Martinis' cage.....and nothing....she did not want to come out. ...at all, ok, no big deal, I closed the door and came back an hour later.

she came out without any issues. All Kahlua wanted to do was get after Martini, both are females..

Kahlua....you wait until Martini is older, she will clean your clock, so you better play nice!

....here we go again.....:(

The joys of flighted birds :) Sammie tries to hunt and destroy Sydney every chance she gets. I got my first real chomp getting between her and her desired target.

ouch.....hope you didn't get too hurt....

I was thinking of having both on me feeding them treats.....
Kahlua loves organic sunflower seeds.
my birds will sit on me, and I give each one a seed, you know...making them to learn to wait for a treat...sort of like training a dog.

I thought it would distract Kahlua from targeting poor Martini....what do you think?

Can't hurt to try.

Sammie doesn't want Sydney anywhere near me when she's on me. I had them both, him on my right hand and her on my left knee. I was giving her scritches and she wanted to get to him, so I instinctively put my hand between them and she chomped down. She seems to do fine as long as I only hold one at a time. It would be so much easier if they got along, but oh well.

I brought Martini back out, and Kahlua flew right to my shoulder.
Kahlua is a bird that does not want anyone one me but her and Flare,my other conure.

I fed all 4 birds the organic sunflower seeds, and it seemed to diffuse the situation.
Kahlua never went after Martini, not once....even when I stopped giving them the seeds Kahlua kept inching closer to Martini, never lunging.

the smart little monkey has figured out all she has to do is move in Martini's direction and Martini flies off.

Poor thing seemed rather nippy today, so much going on, and to take in, but she did ok.

the funny thing is when I returned Martini to her cage, Kahlua flew right over and stayed on her cage for a good 15 minutes.
I almost sensed that she likes Martini, she's just letting her know who's boss.

well guess what Kahlua, your not boss!
