I am so sorry to hear about Barry.... what a horrible week and to be in search of him not knowing, any parent's worst fear...
Bronx suggestion of enlisting the help of kids was actually my thought too! When one of our cats was lost, we offered the kids in the neighborhood a reward even to even just locate him. They were all over the place searching for him, literally no stone unturned.
I wish you the best of luck and will keep hoping for Barry to be waiting at the front door for you any moment.
No =( I got my hopes up this morning. A male barraband was listed as found in my city but turned out he had a leg band and looked a bit older than my boy =( it rainedvall night =(
Have you set out his cage? The rain isn't exactly the best for it, but if it's not raining then setting it out for him to see will help. Full of food and water, even some toys. Cover half of it with a cloth he knows (if he doesn't know any cloths and will only be scared by it, don't).
Oh geez, I only just read this thread. Poor Barry! What rotten luck! Don't give up hope - he's out there somewhere. Even if you don't find him, perhaps someone else will. Put up flyers everywhere to alert people that he's out there and that you're worried. Stranger things have happened: he might just turn up when you least expect it. Sending hugs and hopes you get Barry back again. XX
Make a recording of his own species to play. That's what worked for us when our Jenday got out. They will know their own voice and cry out to it. I doubt he would fly back to his cage if out in the wild. Too much fear.
You're in our prayers, Sophia. Don't lose hope and keep searching. And I think Goalerjones' idea about using a recording of another barraband is an excellent one. Especially since it was tried and proven.
Still no news =/ Have posters on the way for shops and local letterboxes, i figure the more people that are aware the better chance i have of finding him.
You have done all you can, the posters, flyers, letter boxes and word of mouth
I know you will never give up looking
I hope someone has seen him and contacts you
Praying for Barry's safe return
