Hi All
I'm a new feather mummy to a beautiful blue & gold 5 mth old Macaw and would like some advice on teaching her how to play with us.
She's out the cage everyday and apart from looking in a mirror and a clumsy fly into the walls, tv, windows all she wants to do is sit on my chest, slightly spread her wings and hold my little finger in her beak.
She has toys in her cage (don't like using that word) and plays with them but has no interest in any when she's out.
I've got different toys i rotate so she dosn't get fed up with same ones and in her home she'll play but just either hugs as above or lays on her back.
It's something amazing about being hugged by a parrot but i don't want her to see me as boring.
As soon as we sit on the floor or anywhere she'll stand down but then just climb straight back up to my shoulder. If i show her toys while she's sat the she gives a little growl and put her head on my neck.
I'm worried she'll become bored, what advice can anyone offer please?
