Kayak and Carlisle. I love these two!

This picture makes me laugh because Carlisle is all fluffy faced and having an attitude in the background because Kayak is having her picture taken.

Awwww....love 'em!

Our first conure was ALMOST a sun conure...but when we went back to the store to spend some time with him...we just didn't seem to have a connection. I'm sure one would have developed over time, but if we'd have purchased him...we'd have been purchasing for the color factor, and that's no way to purchase a bird! LOLOL!!

I'm super happy we held out for the "right" bird for us...which as you know is our Franklin. But someday...maybe someday...the right sun will come along...they are just sooo stunning.

That pic of Kayak after bathing in the water dish is toooo flippin' cute! Frankie does it all the time too :)

Lovely birds..thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys :)

Carlisle basically picked my boyfriend. He's a Petsmart bird. He spent the better part of a year there and its the store around the corner from my house so we were always in there. I always felt bad for him. Nobody wanted to spend almost $600 on a bird that would outgrow their kids attention span. My boyfriend would always scratch him through the bars on the front of the display and talk to him. Eventually we broke down and bought him in November of 2010. Kayak was adopted a couple months later as a companion for Carlisle. Instead she ended up being a companion for me :X I'm surprised she took so well to us. Not a day after we got her was she out of the cage sharing a snack with me. She is my lovey little bird. It took Carlisle quite a long time to warm up to me. This past June marks the first time I was able to take him out by myself without being mauled so badly I bled and cried. He came right out like he hadn't spend the last 8 months hating and attacking me. Now we're good friends lol he is quite the beautiful bird. All birds are pretty but I must say he is quite stunning. He takes the best pictures too. Kayak is hyper and moves too quickly for good pictures.

They are both adorable! I have always thought sun conures were beautiful but yours is especially awesome! I don't think I've ever seen one with so much red!

I like your Sun. Usually I feel Suns are missing a color on them and it makes them look odd to me but yours pleases my brain xD

They're both so pretty!! Thanks for sharing! I love the picture of the sun standing sideways on your back. lol.

They are beautiful birds! That Sun is so striking! Thanks for sharing.

At the vet's one time Rowdy ended up at that point on my back and I couldn't reach her. I just had to stand there all bent over and wait for the vet assistant to come help. And the girl says, "Um, I don't know much about birds yet." I said just offer her a finger and she will get on. She was there for weakness in her feet and I was worried if I tried to get her she would fall.

Haha! I can imagine him doing that in the vet's office and then biting whoever tried to get him off!! He comes in the bathroom with me when I take a shower (and feel like dealing with his antics) and he always plants himself on my towel on my back where I can't get him. He's such a little stinker. :p

I haven't seen one as beautiful as him either. (and I'm not just saying that cause he's my baby :p) He wasn't very pretty or bright when he was younger... it may have been the terrible seed and only seed (GRRRR!) diet they had him on. I swear he was eating what looked like seed you'd put in a feeder outside for birds. We switched him over to pellets and fruits & veggies. It seemed like once he went through his first molt and had his diet change we ended up with a totally different looking Sun.
