i hope guys and her new cage isnt even here yet dum hurrican lol shes nippy tho but wen i picked her up she gave the lady kisses her cage as of now is 18 wide by 32 tall by 18 deep with 3/4 spaceing its a ratty cage but will have to do until mine arrives but she took to the pellets instantly ill get pics of her up wen she lets me hold her..lol she isnt a pineapple or anything but she dosent look the like regular ones at petco any ideas on the nipping?

Congratulations on your new birdie! Whenever Jasmine nips I give her a wobble, with 'no biting'. If she continues I put her down away from me and ignore her. She is learning 'be nice' and when she eg preens me gently she gets a treat. Mostly it is her being too enthusiastic! The odd time she has intentionally bitten me hard I pop her back in her cage, give her 5 mins and try again. Also giving her a Popsicle stick to chew when shes on my shoulder saves my ears!! Her body language is important - if she's in a snuggly mood then stroking us fine but if she snakes her head in a circle she's best left alone - 2 mins later she's snuggly again! Jasmine was hatched last April so she is still young and learning
Hope this helps :)

Can I ask which size/type zupreem pellets yours has taken to? Jasmine is addicted to seed and I'm trying unsuccessfully to get her to eat kaytee (fruity coloured stuff). Thanks

i shall hunt some down shes so full of enegry and told me shut up a few mins ago..lol least i noe she can talk ahah but yeah i need toget her finger trained she really bit my wife last night im the only 1 she dosent scream at

she looks happier with you, rather than in that miserable, filthy, boring cage. some people just don't get how to treat birds with respect. thank goodness you came along and rescued her!!

it might be an idea to take her to the vet and get a check up/blood work done, just to make sure she's ok, and not deficient in anything.considering the conditions of the cage, I am to assume she was fed quite poorly.
It would give you an idea where she is health wise...

im looking for a bird vet now i been calling around every place is either cat dog or reptiles and yeah i got her to get on my hand but she bit me 0345703489765096 times i gotta get her trained out of it she seem to like rock music..lol bobs her head to it and yeah cage was horrifing cant wate for the new 1

there is just not enough avian vets around, no matter what country your in, keep trying and best of luck...keep us posted....btw, you might want to try using a perch to get her to step up rather than your finger. If she hasn't been handled, your hand will take a beating. It's going to take days or weeks for her to settle in.
