I am looking to add another bird to our home. I love both the Jenday and Blue Crowned conures, but really can't decide between the two. I would really enjoy a cuddly and friendly bird. I know there are no guarantees, but which do you think would be best? Blues are appealing because they can talk and are friendly, but Jendays seem to be a bit sweetier from what I have read. Any advice would be appreciated!

I feel like it would definitely vary from bird to bird but maybe check out local bird stores and breeders?? After Georgie, my sun conure, died, i really didn't know if i wanted another sun or if it would be too similar and upsetting. So i went to a bird store thinking of any of the conures, or a senegal...something in that general size range. I held some green cheeks, some suns (love them so much) and saw a blue crown who really intrigued me and i was 'sold' on them.
Meeting them helped me narrow my search. Maybe that would seal the deal for you too. Just a thought.

I have both a Jenday and a Blue Crowned Conure. I absolutely love them both! I don't think you can go wrong with either of them really. My Jenday (Bo) is more cuddly than my Blue Crown (Mozzie). However, Mozzie talks much better and is so adorable and animated when he talks. Bo likes to do tricks that are so cute. It is hard to say which would be better for you. They really are both great parrots. Good luck with your search and have fun deciding which is best for you.

I did go to a local bird store and check out the birds, which did help me narrow the field to the Jenday or the Blue Crowned. I have picked out the breeder (I have a blue quaker from her and trust her) but I will am not going to be able to meet the baby bird and make a decision based with upon which one I like best since she is so far away. I do want a bird who will be cuddly and affectionate and while I know each bird is different, I am trying to stack the odds, if you will, of getting the "perfect" bird for me. Of course, I would love the bird regardless, but I am trying to get a better sense of the chances of getting a cuddly bird from the two different types...if that makes sense :) Thank you for your advice!
