One African Grey timneh Kernel, One Yellow Naped Amazon Ardie, one African Grey Congo Gracey, and the newest member Goffin Cockatoo Peekko.
Hello all,
I am new here so I will give you a little introduction about my flock. My husband and I own the following birds in this order, TAG Kernel 8 years old, Yellow Naped Amazon Ardie around 30 years old with some feet deformity, CAG Gracey around 7 months and our newest addition G2 Peekko around 3.5 months. Besides the birds, we also have 4 dogs, 3 cats, and 3 bunnies.
So we only have our G2 for about 1.5 week and when I tried to introduce him to our CAG Gracey who is also still a baby, Gracey wasn't very friendly to Peekko. She tried to beak him and Peekko got scared and flew away. I was introducing Kernel and Gracey about the next day when I brought Gracey home and Kernel didn't have any problem. Although he wasn't all that interested in her by turning his back towards her but at least he wouldn't attack. I wonder from your experience, does TAG or CAG can accept other birds of different species easier or is it more individualized from bird to bird? I don't want Peekko to feel scared by his new friends especially Gracey is not too friendly towards him. Since Peekko is a G2, I don't know whether he is sensitive enough to hold a grudge against Gracey? any suggestion would be appreciated. Maybe I shouldn't have got two baby birds in such close timing, but now I just have to deal with it and hopefully make them all get along. I feel my older birds Kernel and Ardie behave much better than these babies.
