My fiance and I got 2 GCCs a couple months ago. She became interested in birds when she met a very affectionate cockatiel (sp) at the pet store. She was being held by the shop for the owner so the shop could sell her. She was very sweet. She also costs almost $1800 with cage...so thats out of our price range. As well as other ways we would have to accomodate her. Hopefully she goes to a good home. ;)

Sooo... we went and bought Jack and Kona... not that we know their genders. Jack is a more outgoing and explorative bird, while Kona is more hesitant and likes to hang on my shoulder and preen my hair and beard.

Theyre technically my fiances birds... she was the one holding them at first and the one they reacted to. Sometime in the past few weeks, theyve become attached to me. If theyre out of the cage when i get home, i dont get 2 steps in the door before i hear them flying over to hang on my shoulder. As long as im home they dont really mess with anyone else... if my fiance tries to get them to perch on her finger and get off my shoulders.. they run over to the other side! I kind of feel bad... I wasnt super interested in them at first... but now im attached. They even sit on the shower curtain rod and screech and chatter at me while im in there. ;)

Nice to meet everyone!...Joe and Shana
