Well, I though I'll try.

I used manila rope (I think it's 5/8" thick), then I ordered a 1/8" SS rod(6 feet long), also I used 3/4" PVC pipe and caps for the ends.
I drilled 2 holes in the caps, wrapped the manila rope around the SS rod and used glue gun to glue the rope with the rod to the inside of the 3/4"PVC pipe. I left about 3-4"of the rod protruding through the caps for bending it into loops for hanging.
The trick is to do one end first and get the rope tight around the rod before completing the second end.
All the material was about $10 max.
