Parrots
One Goffins cockatoo. I would love more but she hates other birds!
So this morning after the birds ate their chop (while in the cage) I let them out. Lars still acted freaked out by me but once he was out of his cage he flew around the house like he needed to really burn some energy. Then he promptly landed on my shoulder. I can't tell you how thrilled I was about that! I gave him more sunflower seeds thru out the day (I would click with my tongue each time first) so now he is associating the clicking with getting a treat. I did not put any food on top of his cage and there were numerous times when he would go up there looking for food but I stood firm. He finally figured out how to go in his cage only be run out of it by my other RN (I didn't realize he was in there). I promptly put Ross in his cage and shut him up so that Lars would hopefully go back in to eat. It took him a couple of hours but he finally went back in his cage and chowed down for quite a while! Anyway I am leaving him up for the rest of the night and I am hoping that tomorrow will be as successful.

Salty thank you so much for your advice. I have always felt you were the parrot guru and I've always looked forward to your advice. I just don't feel comfortable at this stage to give Lars food outside of his cage again right now. I want to make sure he will continue to go in to eat. He is still so young!
