its 99 days till christmas? birds and decorations!!!

having been reminded its 99days till xmas, i was wonder how ppl do the decoration thing with free flying parrot-ta-saurs!

anything shiney nut will lay claim on! anything new nut will have to investigate and see how many pieces she can get out of it, only thing she won't go onto is the hoover, and i am not puttin tinsel an bubbles on that! lol

Thanks for pointing out how close Christmas is. A bit close, isnt it? I didnt have free flighted birds at Christmas last year, will be interesting to see how my 2 feel about the tree. Does anybody have stories about their birds and Christmas trees? Would like to be as prepared as possible.LOL Have vision of birdy poop decoration instead of the sprayed on snow look.

I had a tree last year. Merlin really didnt pay it alot of attention. I know he liked looking @ the lights, but left the decorations alone. I have alot of large potted trees, so he didnt think it was unusual. Wow 99 days till xmas, boo.

tree will be new to nut as we don;t have house plants lol, well it'll be fun to see what happens!!! lol

I'm a nut when it comes to Christmas! I've got loads of decorations, and I've already been singing Christmas songs lol. I must drive my hubby crazy, I drag out the tree and music earlier every year. I'm curious to see what River will think of all the festivities too. My friends tell me I'm obsessed with two things: Birds and Christmas!

I was afraid last year, it was the 1st year we had a tree since we got Merlin. The hangers seemed dangerous. I wired them really tight to the tree & to the ornament. He didnt bother them at all. I had 5 kittens one year @ xmas, I thought it would be bad, they didnt bother it either.

I have a feeling Puck will be my ONLY decoration! I was thinking about getting an edible houseplant for him, so Christmas might be a good excuse. Maybe I'll make ornaments that are parrot friendly, and just put it in his cage. XD

Oh Melly, you sounded so indignant "of course they get pressies" I had a good chuckle, thanks, I needed it. Guess I will have to write to Santa on their behalf. Wonder what they want - toys, food or both?
PS bet Mac can voice record his own personal msg to Santa cos all he wants is "fresh water" I love it on this forum, you guys make me laugh at least once a day. Thanks

i love xmas shopping for the animals...even the guinea pigs get something! last year they had a chocolate santa (for guineas) but they didn't eat it! and northern parrots do xmas themed gifts for parrots closer to december...i'm so excited!! xxx
