He's five months old now and they're all pretty dusty bits

Haha, love like he's just poofed up and exploded!

Merlin does this a lot, though not quite as much as that, but a fair bit! Some small down feathers come loose too. A real good shake off and preen!

Normal! :)

oh have you had oz DNA tested he he defiantly a male just wondering :)

Nope =D But I think he's a male because he can whistle and is pretty vocal thought I'll know for sure soon when he molts. I don't know if the lady who sold him to me had him tested, but she said he was male.

On his 'new bird' checkup, the vet thought he was a girl, and his assistant thought he really is a guy. Bets are open peeps, is Oz a male or a female, make your guesses xD

When does molt start and how long does it last?

@ Mayden haha, yeah xD

Nimbus does the same thing! He's extremely poofy. :) He's only about two and a half months old, but I assume it's just a cockatiel thing :D

Yeah, Oz can be a poofball sometimes <3 I'm moving soon and I'll have access to an awesome camear so I'll be able to take GREAT pics of him instead of the blurry ones I can take with my phone and 3ds

I do find his 'birdie stretch' (when they extend one wing and one leg) adorable. The other day, I was playing a game online and he napped on my shoulder for an hour <3

They go through their adult molt around 6-9 months of age, it'll last awhile to go through the whole molt of losing all the pearl coloring if Oz is a boy!

The juvenile molt is supposed to happen when they are about 6 months of age but it varies because people would sometimes breed them off-season. All my tiels are molting right now and yes, that is normal.
