Is Amason Lifelong learning language?

Liumli many parrots will practice talking and singing when they are alone. Almost like they are shy to practice in public. They will mutter quietly, try out words and phrases, until they feel confident. So it's not unusual what you hear from your bird. They are very shy in front of strangers sometimes and might not talk at first.

There is a YouTube channel for Disco the parakeet (budgie) with many videos of him talking, singing, and practicing words. It's very instructive! Budgies are some of the best talking birds as far as the number of things they say.

Thanks for sharing the vedio. I am trying to search it on internet:)

My Amazon seem to pick up stuff from everyone else but me. I don't know why; he doesn't say much in general except for a few things during the morning and the afternoon. I am surprised how quiet my bird is, but I have had him living in an apartment and in quiet surroundings as he grew up.

Still, despite he is 8, he still pick up new things from time to time. Especially when there are new people around, he is very quick at picking up their whistle noises or sounds. It is not so often we hear him say them though.

I am trying to sing for 10 Mins. in front of him every morning and night for more than 7 months, notice that some stuff learn quick and some he speak no word. I think I will keep teaching him in next few years, hopefully he can become a singer :) and shape his achivement here some day
