Might be a silly question, but I wanted to buy an iron skillet to cook with.

Just wanted to double check to make sure it would be alright and won't hurt my little meyers :)

should be just fine if not coated with anything. :)

If you mean a regular cast iron pan that you season dry and reoil with a little cooking oil that would be fine and least you a lifetime plus. I still have my grandmothers and my mothers cast iron pans. and I still use them. Happy cooking:)

That's exactly what I want! I figured it would be fine, but just wanted to double check :)

Ziggy, there's really not a silly question, if you don't know the answer.....you'd be surprised at the number of people who may have wanted to ask the same or similar question, but were afraid it would be considered a silly question, but you asked it & now all those others who wanted to make sure they could use theirs are feeling better because you asked.....

Cast-iron cookware is bird-safe and will indeed last a long, long time. I have a cast iron frying pan that's almost 100 years old; it was a wedding gift to my grandmother way back in 1915, and I still use it often. :)

+1 on the cast iron skillet. Cooks way better than stainless.

Traded my nonstick pans for cast iron.

I traded mine out too, live the cast iron for eggs or meat, I use stainless steal for anything saucy.

I WISH I had a wonderful family hand me down like that! Very cool!

Thanks all! Searching for my skillet now!
