Nothing has changed in our household, but all the sudden Chico will not step up when it is time to go back in his cage or he will step up, but when we get near his cage he flies off my finger. I have had to towel him twice in the last two weeks. NEVER EVER have I had to do this with him. I told him today that I am going to have to clip his wings if he keeps this up. I have tried giving him his favorite treats, sweet talking him, but as soon as I get him close to his cage he's off like a rocket. His cage hasn't changed locations, no new toys, nothing that I can think of has happened. I know he has been more vocal due to summer being breeding season for IRN's. Maybe this has something to do with it? But I have owned this old man for many years, and this is the first year I've had this problem. Any ideas?

no suggestions, just an after thought??? maybe the old man is being stuborn, cos thats how old men get lol

if breeding season, perhaps his refusing to go into cage on the off chance a lady irn comes by??
