Rusty - Lutino IRN (my first baby!!)
Hi Guys! My lutino irn, Rusty, is 4 weeks old tomorrow! Most beautiful little bird! I love it to bits. It started climbing (or rather trying to) his ladder yesterday, also very interested in fruits.

My worry is that I have heard Rusty sneeze three or four times today. Is there reason for concern?

Thanks!!
:D

Normaly not, they sneeze also if "dust" in the noze. But if you are unsure about the healt the visit a vet

Hi Oled, thanks for the reply. He seems fine otherwise, healthy appetite, chirpy, playfull, etc. So I am sure I have no reason to be concerned.

Another question, is he too young for fruit? And when (and how) can I give him his first bath?

:p

I'd wait til he weans before giving him a bath,at 4 wks he can't have many feathers yet. This your first time at hand feeding?

Hi Henpecked! Thanks for your response and advise. Actually he has quite a bit of feathers, his wings are fully feathered (small and short, but still) and his head is halfway there. It is only his chest and neck that still has the pens. I'm starting to wonder if the breeder did not make a mistake with his age, because he is already starting to climb his ladder, he eats some de-shelled sunflower seeds and fruits.

Yip, it is my first time at hand feeding - I think I am doing okay! He has grown so much in a week.
