I've decided to look up some of the products we own to see if the are safe and I found out that our hairdryer is ionic. Can't find much about it but it may be dangerous to people's lungs? It produces a very low amount of ozone that is toxic in high levels. I don't know if low levels affects birds. Found this:
"The principal danger of using ionic hair dryers is associated with their production of ozone. Ionic hair dryers produce ozone as they work, just like ionic air purifiers, but in the case of ionic hair dryers, the amount produced is very, very small. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, ozone is toxic in high levels and can also damage your lungs and respiratory tract, leading to a variety of health problems, such as coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain and an irritated throat. Repeated inhalation of ozone can aggravate existing respiratory conditions, including asthma and allergies"
I use it in the bathroom right next to the room he is in, which I now think is pretty dangerous anyway. I think I am going to start using any products that heat up in the bathroom far away from him.
Thanks for any help.
