I thought I would share my new baby!!! I got him an hour ago and he's already settled in [emoji14] I had originally gone to get a yellow sided conure, but this little guy flew to me the second the cage was open and wouldn't leave me. It was love at first site!
We have even discovered he loves bells [emoji14]
I'm still not sure what to name him, any suggestions?

Oh my gosh! He is so cute! Congrats! I love seeing all the people on this forum with their new fids! :D I was just at a parrot shop today and I fell in love with this tiny baby pineapple green cheek conure! So sweet, I was going to smuggle her under my coat but they may have noticed something was wrong.... :D

Even my partner loves him [emoji14] he doesn't really like birds (or so he thinks lol) I'm so glad I waited for him instead of rushing out and getting the first bird offered to me.

Kq_fan lol! I think they might of gotten a bit suspicious once your coat started moving and making noises haha!! I felt the same towards this ladies sun conure, they are so beautiful and man did this guy have personality [emoji14] but I'm so happy I got my little pineapple

He is super cute and sounds like he picked you! How about naming him Pumpkin? After that beautiful orange belly he has:D.

He's already going to town on my lip rings lol

Friendly little thing huh? Is he being gentle with those piercings? Kiwi sometimes go after my nose ring, but I have to stop him or he'd rip it out:eek:

He started gentle lol now he just goes for gold! I've had to stop him, he's starting to draw blood from pulling so much haha I'm making a necklace to put on when I'm having one on one with him to draw his attention! Lots of bells and shiny things [emoji14] will look so stylish!

Congratulations on your new fid! He's beautiful! Any idea how old?

Just wanted to throw 2 things out there that you may or may not already know. You mentioned that he loves bells. Bells are great toys, but you should always be sure to remove the clapper. Quite a few parronts have either lost their birds to ingested clappers, or come close to doing so.

And second, it's great that your little guy has settled in so swiftly with you. While it's quite possible that he's simply a very easy going bird who found an immediate connection with you, just keep in mind that some birds go through a "honeymoon period" for a week or two before they start pushing their boundaries.

Sometimes this happens and people who are unprepared for it think their sweet, loving fid has turned into a hell beast overnight. Not so. If this happens just stay patient and ride it through, all the time being solidly consistent with any boundaries you set.

But whether this is a honeymoon phase or not, it looks like you've gotten yourself a wonderful new companion. Congratulations, again!

Your lucky he is a little gentle with your piercings, I have earrings and macaws, cockatoos, amazons, especially my little ones always try to pull them out! The big guys succeeded! I try to cover them with my hair but no, they always find them. -.-

Me too! Ella has managed to pull my nose ring out a few times. Lately though she hasn't been paying much attention to it. She does still try and rip out my earrings! Especially the sparkly ball studs!

I had no idea about the bells! I'll have to go through them all and remove the clappers :/
We will just have to see about the honeymoon phase [emoji14] he's already tried to push his boundaries a couple times but he seems to understand when I tell him off lol

Ouch! I can't imagine having such a big beak close to my piercings :s
I've tried even sucking my lip in until he's attention is averted but he is set on getting my lip rings and pushes so hard to to get his beak into my mouth lol
I guess its the price you pay for having a sparkly face and a pet that LOVES sparkly things [emoji14]

There ARE safe bells, but they are not the little ones that come on toys. In fact, I'd just remove the whole bell from any toy, perch or whatever else has one. I've heard of them containing zinc (toxic to birds) before too because manufacturers want to cut corners and use cheap bells, so those pose a double safety risk!

Here is an actual bird safe bell, made of stainless steel with a clapper that cannot be removed:
[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Caitec-Paradise-1-Inch-3-Inch-Stainless/dp/B001LK5KBW/ref=sr_1_8?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1420437596&sr=1-8&keywords=bell]Amazon.com : Caitec Paradise 1-Inch by 3-Inch Stainless Steel Pet Toy Bell, Small : Bird Bell : Pet Supplies[/ame] (There are 3 or these on my amazons swing, and I would have to use BOLT CUTTERS to remove them. NO WAY he could ever get the clapper loose!

ScooterZ toys have lots of "sparkly" toys

My bird LOVES these toys!
