A post about this little fellow turned up in the Zoology Society's newsfeed yesterday. Turns out, he's living only a mile or so from my place, so I hope to spot him myself with a bit of luck.

See how he has a sulphur crest (but a truncated one) and the large black bill of the SC2, but the blue eye-ring and feathering pattern of the Little Corella.

The Zoo. Soc. is currently in the middle of a heated debate over how such a hybrid could occur in the wild. My vote is that the birdie is an aviary escapee bred from captive parents, although others swear that such hybrids have been seen in Nature. What do you think?

Oh he's beautiful! I've seen the odd galah/corella lovechild around here, but never anything like him. Or her. But as you say, they could very well be escaped aviary specimens who have made good!

Tubby fellow, so cute! The romantic part of me really wants to believe he is the love child of wild parents, a new and happier ending to “Romeo and Juliet”!🥰
